Description
The Mariposa Lily, Calochorta, is a perennial wildflower, native to North America. It grows from bulbs which were widely used as a food source by the Native Americans and early Mormon settlers in Utah. The bulbs can be eaten either raw or boiled. This plant derives it's name from the Spanish word for butterfly since the petals resemble butterfly wings.
